Hi
I am still a newbie as I purchased my Imac back in October 2008
Fantastic to work with particularly IPhoto and also have Microsoft Office 2008 installed

There were 3 programs only available for PC's which I needed so I installed Parallels 4.0 running with Windows XP

I purchased 2 GB memory from Crucial so my system now has 3 GB.
My CPU is 2.0

Questions:

When you close Parallels there are 2 options
Close or Suspend Parallels...which is the better way...considering Suspend:
has the big advantage that it does not have to load windows in virtual memory so Windows comes up within 10 seconds
Is leaving it in virtual memory likely to affect performance even though thee is plenty of memory left ?

Hope this was the right place to post this thread

Bert :D

Suspend doesn't leave it in memory, it saves the state of Windows to the drive, so the next time you open it it picks up where you left off - much like hibernation on a Windows machine. It saves time because you don't have to wait for the machine to boot and Windows to load completely.

So, no, it doesn't have any impact on performance if you suspend it rather than close.
