Parallels 4 Won't Open

When I try to open Parallels 4 or my XP Virtual Machine, I get the following message:
"
Unable to connect to Parallels Desktop.

You may experience a connection problem or your Mac may be down. Contact the Parallels support team for assistance.

"

Are there any fixes for this?
