Parallels and CD/DVD installation problems

I've just upgraded to Parallels 7 and Mountain Lion. Long story short - I managed to lose my entire W7 VM :( Got W7 reinstalled after a lot of help from a Parallels guy, but now it won't recognise Windows programs on CD/DVD - I get a message saying that it cannot open the application, check with the vendor, etc...

I'd be grateful for any help/ideas!
