Parallels and iso image

hi all. new to mac...just got my mac 2 days ago. trying to install windows xp using parallels 5. i downloaded and iso file for windows and i double clicked it and it showed on the mac desktop, BUT parallels wont install windows from that. i am sorry if there is a thread already on this matter. i know i am doing something wrong but cant figure it out since i am new to all this.
please help!!!. thanks

trouble changing dmg and iso

ok thanks for the link i did read it before but in #23 it says for source select the iso image and then choose the dmg file BUT i do not have a dmg file.
