Due to personal matters, I'm in need to convert a parallels machine to vmare workstation.
I've read that VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Client has the capability to do so, but... it's not working!!!
The error I get when importing config.pvs is "The source configuration file is invalid, corrupted or not recognized".
Parallels is version 10, VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Client is version 5.5.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem? Is it related to the new Paralles software or to the fact that I'm converting an Apple machine?
Can I do something different (converting first to vmware fusion and then moving to vmware workstation)? :apple:
Obviously I know that it's forbidden to have an Apple virtualized machine...

Whilst not being 100% sure on this I tried something similar a while ago as an experiment with similar results. In the end I had to do a bit of searching around and whilst people have succeeded it wasn't without some pretty heavy tinkering if I recollect. I've never had trouble converting a Windows or Linux virtual machine Parallels to VMware Workstation however which makes me think even more that it's an OS X virtual machine problem.

Ok Garrod, very good so. Now I have a pvs file I tried to import in vmware workstation but... no luck. The pvs is osx...
I'll try with an hackinsotch (argh) since I need an apple machine on my win work laptop...
