Parallels and VPN and Internet traffic!

Hi everyone:

Here is the situation. I use parallels and VPN to do my job work. On the OS X side, I download movies and stuff. This is all on my home network. My question is this: Is all my traffic going through work VPN for any reason? I know that when I try to open internet on windows (parallels + VPN), it is very slow and that is because that side is on company proxy. I have no such problems on my mac side.
