I'm about to set up a windows xp pro oem boot camp with parallels using the bootcamp partition on a brand new macbook pro with 4GB of RAM for use with microsoft office 2007 and other proprietary windows-only programs. Some questions I had about how much memory to allocate:
1. How much should I give parallels to have great performance in microsoft office 2007 (I'm talking no lag here).
2. When I allocate that memory how does that work? Does it always have it allocated from the time I turn the system on even if I don't run parallels or does it only allocate it to parallels once I've run the program?
3. I was thinking making a 30GB FAT32 partition with macdrive 7 to interchange my files - Leopard will be able to read and write that partition, correct and it should be pretty hassle free as I understand it, correct?
4. Anything else I need to know before I start this weekend project?
