Parallels Seperation in Ram?

Hello

When you get parallel or fusion it asks that you choose how much RAM to use on windows which is what i installed. Now I wanted to ask, say I put 8 gb ram on it and I have 16, when I close the Parallels/Fusion app will my Mac be back to 16 or will it only use 8 whether or not windows is open?

Once you quit Parallels Desktop and its VM(s), the RAM taken by Parallels Desktop will be free to use for the rest of the OS and all applications.
 
You can easily verify by watching memory usage while launching, using and closing Parallels.
