Has anyone successfully used this offer

I entered my Vmware Fusion key it accepted it and then sold me an unusable upgrade key for Parallels as when registering the product you then have to enter a old Parallels key to qualify the use of an upgrade key, I contacted their support and they just refunded my money with no explanation
