Parallels - Windows XP SP1

I want to install Windows in my iMac. I will use rarely but I need it.

I have a Windows XP SP1. It is old, from 2005!

Could I install it on Parallels 8, upgrade to SP3, and after it buy the upgrade to Windows 8?

PS) I also have the upgrade version of Windows Vista. Is it possible install this upgrade over XP SP1?
