Paramount + and Up Next not linked properly

I have Paramount + as a stand alone subscription running on an Apple TV 4k 2nd gen. It’s linked to Up Next. I see it in Up Next with the next episode in the series. It even has the little Paramount + logo in the episode card in Up Next.….however. When I click on it to play that next episode it brings me to Apple TV Store and wants me to buy the episode from them and it does not open the Paramount + app. Any suggestions?

Works for me. What happens if you delete/re-add the app?

go to the individual episode details, you may have to long press a couple times and "view details" to get there, then scroll down on the page, you should see an "open in" section with all of the available options. It should remember what you choose, although occasionally it resets, not sure if it's when the target app updates or what.
