Parental Controls time limit not ticking

We have a Mac Pro work computer in my stepson's room that he is allowed to use. I have strict time limits on computer use for him, 3 hours a day during the summer holiday.
Today I felt he'd been on the computer all day long, so I went to take a look and the timer (under the clock in the menu) still ready 2 hours 58 minutes left, which is far from correct. He is only 10, autistic and does not have the knowledge to hack his way past the parental controls.

Anyone else experienced this issue or know a solution?

Yes, we have the same problem here. I've got three kids, each with identical time limits set up in Parental Controls. One kid can roll all day long, no problem. No explanation why. The other two get logged out without fail at the end of their allotted time.

I've been searching through the System Preferences and Googling like crazy trying to come up with what's going on. Incredibly frustrating.
