How is the maps parked car notification supposed to work?

Sometimes it works (usually when setting up a new phone) and sometimes I get no notification at all. Does it go away over time?

It's associated with CarPlay and/or your car's BT. When you disconnect from it and stop moving, you should get an alert. But also make sure you have alerts for Maps turned on to show parked car.

Alerts have always been inconsistent for me. Will still show location in maps but don't always get alerted.

Apple uses advanced machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the latest chip technology to sometimes tell you roughly where you may have parked

I think I’ve only ever got an actual parked car notification once, even though my car is always in the right spot in maps.

Guess it only notifies once so you are aware of the feature. Makes sense.

Anyone getting these notifications consistently?

I get them intermittently. But I wonder if it’s because of frequent locations being turned on.
I think this has something to do with it too. So if you park at a new spot it will notify you, but if you park where you work or some other place you frequent it doesn't notify you.
