Part of the paint is missing on the caps lock key. Will Apple be able to replace in store? MBP 14"

I just noticed this. For $2500 i'd rather not have this flaw.

I don't want to replace the whole screen. Will Apple be able to replace just the key in store? Thanks

Yes, if they have the correct keycaps localisation in stock (Yours looks pretty standard).

It is fiddly though, and doesn't always work (the new key can get stuck or whatever and actually make the situation worse), so always go into the store being prepared that it might need an entire top case (keyboard) replacement, and that you'll have to leave it with them for a number of days. If it can be fixed whilst you wait, that's a bonus rather than something you should expect.

As above. So long as they have a replacement part available in-store then they should be able to do it there and then. Had a single key cap swapped out at a Genius appointment some time ago. Took the guy no longer than two minutes ?

Oh what a bunch of whiners. Tell ya what bring it to me and give me twenty dollars, then turn your back. I'll grab a Sharpie and make it disappear along with your twenty. Wala problem fixed. I'll even sell you a "special" Sharpie for future updates.

Doubtful they do anything for you. Its considered cosmetic damage and Apple is just going to tell you that its part of wear and tear and not much they can do for you.

It’s not normal wear and tear if he received it like that. Insist on a new computer. If the visible parts are defective, who knows what’s wrong with the unseen parts!!

Update:

I took it to Apple and they agreed it should be fixed. They replaced the key while I went for lunch.

Very nice to see that the new "magic keyboard" HAS replaceable keys.

With the previous butterfly keyboard, they'd have to change the entire top case of the computer!

It looks like Apple learned something from the butterfly keyboard disaster.
