Hi, I have been tring to install OS X on a G4 Mac but I am having some problems.

-The hard drive used to have OS X on it.
-It has since been removed, FDisked on a PC.
-I am tring to put OS X back on but the partioning tool in the installer can't seem to do anything with the drive now. When I try to partion the drive with the installer I get an error saying it can't dismount the partition even though there is nothing there, and I have booted from CD.
-I have also tried putting the HD in an older G3 as a second HD to try partioning it, but that just locks up without an error
-With Fdisk, I have tried both removing all partions and creating an unformated Dos partions with the same results.

Any thought on how I can get this HD partioned so I can reinstall the OS?
