I've partitioned my external Lacie drives to good purpose before, but never my built-in drive. Any performance issues to consider?
Are there any special considerations that need to be made that wouldn't apply to external drives but would be important to the iMac's internal/startup drive? I suppose the key question is whether there are any reasons you'd advise against it.
Thanks :)

There might be some nano-second slow downs but you won't even notice them. You will lose some space too because formatting takes space but feel free to do it if you need it.
