partition 500g external harddrive

I have a quick question...before I start doing all the research, I want to make sure it is possible.

Can I partition my external hdd (Seagate FreeAgent 500G), and connect it to my AEBS to run Time Machine backups for my iMac, my wife's macbook, and then get my movies/music for iTunes off of it?

actually, it wasnt too much research, so I apologize for a stupid post...

it was quite easy to do through disk utility, attached to my iMac, next will be a direct connection to Macbook, then I'll attach it to the AEBS...hopefully all goes according to plan.
