Hi, I recently upgraded my Macbook to Lion, and other than a few minor issues it's fine.

However, I can't use Logic Express 8 on it (I know I should upgrade from it, but I don't want to spend £83 on upgrading to LE9 when I don't really need to). To get around this issue I thought I'd install SL on a partition on my hard drive, so I could carry on using LE8. However, when I go to to partition the hard drive I get this message:

"Partition failed with the error:

Couldn’t modify partition map because file system verification failed."

Why would my file system verification test fail, and how can I fix it?

Thank you in advance
