Hello All,

I previously had Ubutntu running on a partition I created by resizing my partitions to create free space on my hard drive and then installing Ubuntu in the free space. Because of a stupid mistake I attempted to just reinstall Ubuntu by deleting the partition and then reinstall Ubuntu as I had done initially. After doing this I can select the partition from the boot menu but when booting up I only get a black screen with a blinking underscore. I attempted to find the issue by resizing my partition for OSX to take up the entire hard drive and then resizing it down again but this did not work.

Now after trying to reinstall Ubuntu a few times I tried looking at the diskutil list command and this comes up with the following output:

Code:
admins-MacBook-Pro-2:/ shafferm$ diskutil list
/dev/disk0
   #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
   0: GUID_partition_scheme *750.2 GB disk0
   1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1
   2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 749.8 GB disk0s2
/dev/disk2
   #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
   0: *1.5 TB disk2

My hard drive is 750 GB so I have no idea what this extra disk is and have not been able to figure out if there is a way I can just get rid of it or if I need to resize my partition table or what. I don't know if this is why I am having problems with install Ubuntu or if it is a separate. I have previous had Ubuntu partition issues after uninstalling but that was on my PC and I was able to figure it out.

I don't know if this is the right place within these forums or if this would be a better question for the ubuntu forums so pointers to a better place for this question would help as well.

Thanks in advance.
