Partition Samsung T5 for TM and normal drive

Hello,

I just got my Samsung T5 and want to use it as a backuo with TimeMachine for my MBA M1, but also as an "normal" SSD Hard Drive to store files from other OS.
In Disk Utility I cannot partition it right away, I guess I have to first erase/format the SSD.

Is there somewhere a good guide how to do that? Which format I need to use etc.?

In disk utility, did you go to the "view" menu and choose "show all devices"?
