So to do a clean install of lion I partitioned my drive in half. I deleted the original snow leopard (part 1) and kept lion (part 2). how can I recover the 250.gb of storage I deleted and add it to part 2? I tried just simply changing the gb of space in the disk utility but an error popped up. thanks in advance for your help :)

You can extend a partition forward but not backward. You've got empty space at the beginning of your drive.

1 - Make a backup of your system to an external drive
2 - Create a new Part 1 from the empty space
3 - Use the Restore function to copy Part 2 to Part 1
4 - Delete Part 2
5 - Expand Part 1 by dragging the partition size

lol thanks for the help, I just decided to delete everything clean, and re-install lion from scratch. long wait but I killed time on my ps3. everything's great now!
