Here's what I did . I thought I plugged in a new WD external hard drive to my macbook pro laptop so I went to partition it with one partition (using disk utility) so it would work on my mac but I accidentally had another drive plugged in so I partitioned the wrong external hard drive. I have used Data Rescue 3 to try to recover the data on the hard drive and it has somewhat but the files are all over the place and are renamed. I haven't overwritten anything on the drive so I was wondering if it's possible to rebuild or get the partition back that I had so I can see the files again I hope that makes sense. Any help or wise words anyone could provide would be very much appreciated as the data on the drive is very important to me.
