I bought myself a 1TB external hard drive. My goal is to partition the drive in half so I can use half with time machine and the other half to back up my PC (which is acting as my apartment's network drive). In an ideal world, I'd be leaving the portable hard drive plugged into the PC at all times, and then just sharing the HFS+ volume the same way I share all the other storage I have on here. The problem is Windows doesn't recognize the HFS volume so I am not able to share it over the network for use with time machine.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.
