Hey all I have a 2013 MBPr with 256gb flash storage that I use for Traktor (Dj program) and a little school work. The issue I have is my music is way unorganized and I have all kinds of files all over the place. I know this really isn't a problem for OSX but it's driving my insane.

What I want to do is copy all of my music to a eternal HDD and organize it there. Then copy it back.

In the meanwhile though I want to reload OSX but this time I want to partition my drive into 2 halfs. Since I tend to have my school files all over the place and I'm too lazy to keep them organized... I'll just simply reload the OS when it gets too bad :p

But if I have it partitioned I wont lose my music/software and all of the work I put into organizing my sets (cue points, metadata, playlists etc)

Is there anything I need to be concerned with setting my drive up this way?

Anyone know how much space OSX needs to itself? I figured I'd give about 100gb to the OSX and the rest to Trakor and music even though my music collection is really only about 40gbs.

Any suggestions?

I have my machine backed up to time machine on a wd drive atm so I can always go back if I don't like it or if Traktor doesn't work this way.

Anyone have experience running Traktor this way?

Thanks
