I've decided that I'm going to use Carbon Copy Cloner to backup a full disk image of my computer so that I can restore easily if my MacBook HD ever gets wiped (as I've heard Time Machine can't do this). However, this requires partitioning my Time Capsule, on which I have my current TM backups and a few of my parent's Windows backups. I have two questions:

1) Will partitioning the drive wipe all the current content on the TC?

2) How can I partition the drive safely (Disk Utility?)

Thanks for your help?

(Also, I don't think this is possible at all, but could I partition a drive into 3 segments and then move my current TM backups over to the new segment?)
