So I have been researching possible ways to partition my Harddrive in order to have SL on my Lion iMac. I just want to be able to play old games like D2 and be able to run a few PowerPC apps. I would only need a small partition so it doesn’t bother me much as far as hard drive space goes.

I do have a few questions about it though. For one, all the places I have researched this in has said to use the install disk for SL that came with a mac. Well, I don’t have one of those. My iMac came booted with Lion so no disk there and my macbook had Leopard on it originally. I have a retail version of SL that I updated my macbook with, would this work or would it not be useful because I already used it on my macbook?

Also, assuming I could get the SL disk to work (not saying I can but let’s assume) will it affect the performance of my mac any? My iMac is my main computer and I need it running fast to be able to do my editing and such. I don’t think a partition that isn’t running would do anything I just don’t want to go through the whole process and have my editing rig running slow because I want a few old games.
