Hello everyone,
So long story short I had installed windows on my MacBook. I outgrew the space I had originally allocated to it, so I erased the partition and it went to free space. Now I can't merge the free space to create the new windows partition. Even booting from my backup drive, it is still greyed out. Does anyone know any tricks for it?

It looks like you have Filevault turned on there? You will need to turn off FV and wait for it to decrypt, then change the partition like you want then afterwards turn FV back on.

I forgot I had filevault on, thanks! I'll try turning it off.
