I recently needed to use bootcamp to install windows on my Mac. It was giving me issues about free space even though I had about 30 GB free.

To fix the problem I tried to use disk utility to shrink my partition and then expand it back.

It shrank just fine but when I went to expand it, it gave me the error: "Partition failed with the error: couldn't unmount disk"

I figured it was because I had booted from that drive. So I boot up from an external Lion Recovery Drive and try again.

I get the same error.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Never mind. I tried again after many failed attempts and it finally worked.

The funny thing is that it worked when I booted up from the partition I was trying to resize.

Thanks for y'alls help :p
