Partitions

Just d/l mandrake linux but would like some advice on a good partioning program.

is this a new disk or a disk with a mac os already on it. If its empty then just use diskutility to do it. Tech Tool 4 promises no destructive partitions and shoudl be arrivng at the end of june i think.

To make spare partitions on your Hard Drive you will need to back up all of your data, reformat the Hard Drive, then arrange your partitions to choice.

Don't bother with partitioning the Hard Drive to any more than one partition unless it is a priority. Otherwise you are wasting time. Not to mention you will have more problems with more than one partition on your Hard Driver rather than the simple one.

actually, you can buy a program called partition magic to repartition your drives without losing any info on them, though i would still recommend backing that stuff up.
