is it normal that I cant adjust the partition size from partitions on an external harddrive? one is for time machine, another is partitioned for mac, and a tird is NTFS. a want to enlarge the NTFS but seem to not be able to.

Adjusting the partition sizes means you are starting over with the drive and deleting all the data. Set the number of partitions in Disk Utility and indicate the respective sizes and file types.
 
1) I assume since you already know Mac's cant write to NTFS, they can only read it, so you need to install MACFuse and NTFS-3G first before you can modify NTFS partition sizes. (both free obviously)

2) Since you dont know what, install them (direct links below), then you'll be able to modify your partition sizes, assuming the drive isn't full.

NTFS-3G

Restart required.

As i said, your drive cant be too full

i have these both installed. and the disk is completly partitioned but each partition has got multiple gigs of free space , yet i can't adjust the size...
 
do you know any other tools? the site where you can download it doesnt seem to exist anymore?

your help is very much appreciated!
