Parts Shortage Already?

So I placed an order for my 17" i7 Antiglare MBP on the 15th of April and was quoted 2 weeks until I'd receive the product. 18 days pass and I call up the store (David Jones for anyone here in Australia) and they notify me they didn't actually place my order with Apple until a week after the original purchase and now my machine is victim of a parts shortage so I should expect to wait an additional 2 weeks.

Does anyone know if there's a parts shortage at Apple or is this store trying to conceal not having ordered my machine at all?

I ordered a 15" HR AG from apple on April 28, and it was marked as shipped on May 1. So at least they aren't short on 15" AG panels as of yet...

Cancel your order. Tell them that you are not happy win their services!
But idk if it'll work there ...it would in the US lol
