I just noticed while messing around with my Starbucks passbook card that my screen is extremely bright. When I exit the app all is normal again. Other apps are acting normal as well. Anyone else notice this?

I noticed this. I'm wondering if it is so the passes can be scanned. I've had my screen too low at times and had to turn it up for the Starbucks app to scan before.

Yeah, Passbook pushes the brightness to 100% to make it easier to scan, less glare I imagine.

I mentioned this in the Passbook thread. Apparently it was mentioned in the keynote.

I've read that keyring and cardstar need to be above 80 percent brightness to ensure scanning, so I am guessing this is native to make it work better.

I like it since its used very little...but added functionality built in is better than meddling with settings.

pretty obvious answer here. the brightness needs to be all the way up to ensure scanners to pick it up.
