Resolved Passcode not working

Tonight I upgraded my S4 to wOS 6 and when prompted to enter a passcode, entered my usual one (twice, as needed).

Following the upgrade, my passcode doesn’t work! 😧

It rejects my passcode then locks out for a steadily longer period (now 60 minutes between retries). Since in-pair and re-pair normally fixes things I tried that but it seems to have made things worse... 😱

My phone now considers the watch un-paired, but the Watch doesn’t.

Any suggestions for how to recover this situation?

So I managed to recover the situation. By force-pressing on the screen you get the option to reset the Watch. This then allowed me to re-pair the Watch with my phone. Phew!

The data plan seems to be a little screwed up at the moment, but a phone call to my service provider should help with that.
