iPod touch password haha

hi i have an i pod touch that i bought used the guy showed me hthat it worked and such put it back in its case and i took it home. now i tried to connect it to the computer to sync it but there is a password and the guy wont answer me is there a way to override the password

connect the device in recovery mode, then set it up as a new device.

Sounds like you bought a stolen device, return it if you can find the person.
