I am a longtime user of 1Password on both Mac (M1 Pro 14", 32 GB RAM) and Windows (X1 Carbon Gen 7, Win11). 1 Password works really well overall. If anything, its performance on Windows is even better than on the Mac. I also have Chrome stored and managed passwords. Ditto for iCloud, which also appears on Windows.
I am finding consistent jamming of, or competition for, PW input fields on the Mac by the Mac Passwords app and 1 Password. Often the Mac PW wins and takes over my keystrokes. When 1PW finally appears it seems to have trouble saving the new or updated password I am entering. Most, but not all, of my passwords are saved in both apps.
I often encounter 1Password asking if I want to update a password that has not changed.
I think Keychain joins the fray when it can, to offer a multi lettered, numbered, and special charactered PW for my approval. While its suggestions are no doubt bullet proof, it intrudes into an otherwise normal entry of already established and saved PW entry. It seems able at times to displace the Mac PW and/or the 1PW app process of filling forms.
I sometimes feel that these apps can conflict with each other.
I like the integration of the Mac PW app with the system, but I think I might be better off with 1 PW since I still have need for an Intel Machine for work. Fusion can't run the program I need for an EMR on Mac silicon. I also like the idea of supporting 1PW, so that Apple doesn't kill off a really strong and useful app. Of course, the Mac PW app + iCloud PW could work for both systems.
I am curious about the experience of others with PW managers. Can these competing apps be siloed, or does one have to uninstall one of them?

My story is the same as yours. I was surprised years ago when I read, *Only use 1Pass..." but the new Apple PW has made it more difficult to do so. I have turned all use of browser-based autofills, and it's better. I also learned when can 1Pass does it's own "too much" such as covering a 6-digit text code (which I hope they could fix) ...just close it with the icon. I thought I'd miss autofill using Contacts in Safari, but you can get through through a 1Pass "identity."
