Password now required to approve kids' purchases?

Rumor has it (link below) that touch ID can no longer be used to approve app store purchases by kids in Family Sharing as of iOS 9. Does anyone know if this is true? If not has anyone found a way to make it work in iOS 9? For me it's not just paid apps that require my password, it's also free apps requested by kids. I really miss touch ID approval!
