When I jailbroke my iphone, I immediately changed 'alpine' to something proper.

When trying to use iFile to navigate to the music folder as itunes no longer removes all the music from it, iFile crashes when trying to navigate.

Using a terminal, I get 'permission denied' when switching directories. So I try to login as root or use the su command.

In both cases, it says the admin p/w is wrong.

Uh-oh.

So, could my iphone have been hacked anyway?

Is there a tool that will let me reset the root password from the 'mobile' account?

And, worst case scenario, can I remove the jailbreak and do a full reformat back to original specs (and never jailbreak again because the benefits aren't as lovely as I first thought them to be.) I did search the web for this but didn't find much conclusive. Some say jailbroken code still exists, others say a hard reset formats all.

Sorry to pest, figured it out.

Firewall needs to be set to 'off' for the iFile app. It works again, whee! (a recent update may have inadvertently turned the firewall back 'on' for that app...)

I also managed to find my password list.:eek::eek::eek::eek:
