Password protect just the Mail app?

Is there a way to password protect just the mail app, and I am looking to do it without Jailbreaking.

I am aware of the pincode feature and also lockdown, and while that worked great on the iphone, it doesn't cut it with an iPad. My iPad gets used like a laptop does, and is passed around considerably more than my iPhone. Therefore, more security options need to exist, if not now, at some point.

I'm disappointed that Apple hasn't provided better security features - yet.

Parental controls should be expanded, and probably renamed, to allow not just hiding of selected applications but the ability to lock any of them down with a specific passcode as well.
