Hello,

I was just wondering if there was any simple way to pw protect a USB thumb drive. I don't need some crazy/insane encryption, but just something that after inserting the USB drive into EITHER a windows or apple computer, it asks for a PW rather than mounting it automatically.

I want this, as recently, I have realized how easy it is to misplace a USB jump drive and if someone else found it..i'd rather the avg. person not be able to look at the contents.

Thanks. :apple:

You can use TrueCrypt to make an encrypted image on the USB stick. You can also install TrueCrypt for Windows and Mac right on the stick so any computer you use can access the encrypted image.
