Before Yosemite, you could set up an ad hoc network on a Macbook Air that you could join with an iPhone allowing control of iTunes using the Remote app on the phone.

In Yosemite, the ability to password protect an ad hoc network was removed.

I used to be able to set this up at a party with only my computer and iPhone. Now I need to bring a wireless router to set up a temporary wireless network that is secure.

Does anyone know of any apps for the mac that allow you to set up an ad hoc network with password protection?
