Password removal

Hi I recently bought an ibook G4 and want to completely reinstall the OS but when I insert the installation disk I get a message asking for a password, is there any way to remove the password.

if you put in the install disk, hold c (i think) and boot from the disk (this will take longer than normal boot) then go to utilities in menu bar and then you should be able to change the password to whatever you like, i hope thats what you mean!
