I realized that every time you restart the iPhone or Mac you need to enter your password to enable Touch ID or Face ID.

The issue is: Doesn’t that make it vulnerable and having Touch ID or Face ID becomes useless if someone gets your password?

Doesn’t make sense right? 🤔

It makes sense. TouchID is a convenience feature, not a security feature, so you don't have to enter your password as often. Both iOS and iPadOS have the same philosophy. Macs don't have FaceID, by the way.

Entering your password the first time proves your identity and unlocks TouchID. If you let someone get your password, the door is unlocked. Never give up or share your password.

Also, if touch ID or Face ID fails multiple times it defaults to the password. The Face ID is just a secure alternative to the passwords. It’s not an additional layer of security. If touch ID was required, I would never be able to use my iPad 😂😂
