From past history, when (if ever) do the stores start to offer real discounts on soon to be outdated Ipods? I would think it would be already happening IF new models were truly just around the conner.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5C1 Safari/525.20)

I've never really seen huge discounts on them. The best I've seen is Apple's free iPod deal this summer fir college students.

I don't think there are really any price cuts on iPods. Sometimes, you'll be lucky to get one $20 off at some big retailers.

However, there was a 99 Cents store in L.A. selling iPod Nanos for 99 cents. But that doesn't count. Plus, it happened on some random day. I don't think it was near a refresh.
