Can anyone get "Paste and Match Style" to work in Mail on Mountain Lion? I tried the hot keys and the menu and I always get the style pasted in as well.

If there is a better place to ask these very specific questions let me know.

I didn't try using "Paste and Match Style" when I first upgraded to Mt. Lion so I can't say if it's an issue or not.

However rather than using the Edit drop-down menu I've always added a keyboard shortcut to accomplish that for Mail, Pages, etc. I did that shortly after upgrading to Mt. Lion and it seems to be working fine on my iMac and MacBook Air.

To create the "Paste and Match Style" keyboard shortcut:

  1. Open System Preferences (Apple Logo in the top menu > System Preferences)
  2. Keyboard
  3. Application Shortcut
  4. Click on the "+" button
  5. Application: All Applications
  6. Menu Title: Paste and Match Style
  7. Keyboard Shortcut: Option/Command/V (⌥ ⌘ V)
  8. Click "Add"

I've always had to restart my Mac for it to take effect...and in the past I've had to try the keyboard command two or three times for it to start working for some reason. After that it always works.

Hope that helps!
