Paste Button in Word 2008

Hello, everyone:

After switching from Word 2004 to Word 2008 I have encountered a weird problem. My paste button flashes for a couple of seconds (not enough time for me to click it) and then vanishes whenever I cut and paste something.

Any ideas?
