Pasteboard Server Crashing

Hello all,

Don't think I'm a Newbie here, I've been here for a long while, reading all the interesting posts and trying to solve my own problems. This is just the first time I've got a problem I can't find a solution for.

I've been having several problems ever since I downloaded the recent updates (iTunes, iPhoto and security): I'm not able to Copy-Paste, Drag&Drop, several programs (mostly widgets) crash and Butler won't start-up properly.

After doing some research, I found out that the cause lies with the Pasteboard Server (pbs) not starting up, or crashing instantly. Either way, it doesn't show up in the Activitymonitor after the log-in-procedure is done.

I've already checked the permissions, set Tinkertool to it's defaults and restarted several times. Ive also tried this hint: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20041213142116603

I can start pbs manually, but it will crash again after I do one or two Copy-Paste's. The terminal shows that there happened an Bus Error.

I've also found tha Crashlog, but I do'n understand this, maybe someone else can explain it.

Hopefully someone can help me here, it's so annoying.

I couldn't live without copy pasting! How horrible!
No idea how to fix that. Maybe do an archive and reinstall Tiger.
But that seems way to drastic.

I also think that's way to drastic. I'm trying everything I know of right now. That is: clearing all caches, resetting PRAM and repairing my permissions again.

I now do know that pbs is starting up when I'm logging in, but crashing in about 10 seconds.

Please help!

Maybe it you have a corrupt preference file. Im not sure the clipboard even HAS a preference file....

Edit: Never mind... I just checked. It doesn't appear to have any preference files. Not a big surprise. Do you have any hack or mods for the clipboard? If so uninstall them.
