how do i open the pasteboard? and paste to it? it does not look like something i should be messing with but i am trying to connect my phone to imac and this requires a command line copied into the pasteboard. any help would be great

any help on how i would open this pasteboard in question would be greatly appreciated... I am trying to get Bitpim to work with my phone (lg8700) and need to put a command into pasteboard to get the two to work. I am very much out of my element on this one having no clue about programing, writing scripts and whatnot. Thanks.
