Patagonia Half Mass Messenger bag for 13 MBA- review

This is a quick review of my new shoulder bag by Patagonia. They call it the Half Mass bag and it is made from a weather proof heavy nylon. Inside is a removable laptop sleeve that measures 15.5 x 11.5 and secures inside the bad in a suspended orientation. That way when the bag is set down the laptop does to have a hard landing. On the outside flap is a generous zip pocket with another large pocket on the outside back of the bag. On the inside there are two large pockets that hold cables and on the inside of the main compartment is a small zippered pocket that would hold a small portable drive or wallet and iPhone.

These bags retail for 99US and are highly rated among owners. I have used Patagonia brand products for many years and they are consistently very high of quality.

Thanks for the review. I wonder how this bag's younger brother, the pantagonia minimass, would work with the MBA 11.6? Anyone have any info on this?

I bet the Mini Mass and the 11 inch is a perfect combo. The bag looks pretty much just like the Half with the same colors. Now that I have had a day or so of use with the Half I can say I am positively thrilled with my choice. I thought the orangish color was a cool, I didn't want to be just another black/brown/dk green bag in the crowd.

I hope you get one, I really think you will love it-

mini-mass, and half-mass

I have been using this with the 11inch mba for a while, I can say that its a perfect fit, you will want extra protection though because there is no laptop sleeve in the mini mass, I used this sleeve in conjunction with the mini-mass. The combo is really good, you don't even have to pull the sleeve out to get your computer.

You have to be careful though, because there is a lack of padding on the bottom of the bag, and the sleeve does not have good protection on the corners, if you drop this bad at the right angle you can ding you macbook pretty good. Might look into another sleeve or maybe something harder, but there isn't much room, that's why the skinny sleeve works well.

Does anyone know if the half mass works well with the mbp 13 retina, i'm planning on using it to carry the mbp 13 retina and my mba 11?
