Patches, etc.

I'm new to Mac and I downloaded my free ML upgrade today.

How long does Apple typically wait before providing patches or the like for the numerous bugs that are being reported?

I'm running into some things that are only inconvenient, but others that are keeping me from using some very basic functionality (like accessing the second page/screen of the Launchpad).

It seems that the time between a 10.x.0 and 10.x.1 is a pretty consistent 2-4 weeks.
