iPod touch Patching The ipod touch to your phone's 3g network.

I have a jailbroken ipod touch, mc model. I read about someone patching his ipod touch to his phone's 3g network, so he could access the internet anywhere. Is this possible? And if it is, could someone tell me how? Thanks.

only through a mifi type of device or there are apps for WM and BB phone that will share the wifi from the device like a mifi, think there is an app for symbian and also android but I'm not sure, and the new HTC EVO will do it as standard for upto 8 devices
